52 week project! Week 27

I am behind a week. I did take picture during our family vacation. I am yet to take them off their chips so I can chose one for my weekly picture.

However, here is the picture for this week.

Jon's grandma passed away on June 26th. Although it was expected, it wasn't expected on the day it happened. I think we all felt that she was going to push through. However, God took her in. We had her funeral yesterday. As you can see by her shoes, she was very much Dutch! The funeral matched her just so. I think if she could see from Heaven, she'd been pleased.

52 week project! Week 25

Well. It's been a LONG time since I posted a weekly blog! According to Amy's post, we are on week 25! I think I stopped at week 14 :( There has been a lot of changes in those past 11 weeks. I've been consumed with a new pregnancy that had made me very tired. Plus, I was consumed with my son's baseball season by being the team photographer. So I have been taking the pictures... just not posting them! I will see about getting them posted shortly to try to catch up.

This morning my little girl decided to be lazy. :) She sat up on her knees, and then fell forward and went back to sleep. I just thought the position that she was in was adorable! She had her tush in the air with her feet curled behind her. Our bed sheets are blue so it really didn't go well with her pink and brown jammies. I decided to apply the Warming Filter to give it a sepia look.

52 week project! Week 14

I had so much fun taking pictures in our hotel room in Vegas. The room was filled with brightly colored furniture and decor.
I have more pictures from our trip that I will post on my personal blog.
This picture is of Shelby's feet. Baby girl fell asleep after playing in the pool. Playing is so hard to do :)

52 week project! Week 13

I actually took this picture today. It technically doesn't fall within the 13th week.
I took this picture at Marisa's mom's house. I just feel in love with Lydia's furniture! She has the most adorable chairs. I took a couple of shots in between fun and games. This one was my favorite.

52 week project! Week 12

She is such a flirt! Shelby was looking so cute hiding her face in her hands as she was trying to fall asleep. Once I got out the camera, she started flirting with me. We must have stayed up another 30 mins just taking pictures. I don't get great lighting, neither natural nor bulb, in the living room. But I thought that the noise with a b&w conversion made this picture stand out.

52 week project! Week 11

I am sure I am really early for my week 11 posting. I foresee having absolutely no life this week; therefore, I thought I'd jump ahead. I don't want to miss a thing!
I took this one at my son's baseball game. It gets cold around 5pm! It was 55 degrees!!! I really don't know how I survived Tennessee.
Needless to say, I wrapped Shelby in a blanket. The picture opportunity was too perfect!

52 week project! Week 10

My big brown eyes!
Really. She got them from me.
Her daddy has green eyes that I was so hoping for her to have.
But she was blessed with these beauties.
It's her trademark now.
I saw a similar picture on a flyer that was in my mailbox. Thought I would try to capture a pose with a nice colorful background. I grabbed a blanket that I am still quilting for her.
Something simple, yet fun.

1/2 Year Old Beauty!

Here are a few pictures I took of my little half-year old baby girl! :)
I just enjoy taking pictures of her. She is so photogenic.
Both my kids are. I don't know where they get that from :)

Shelby's 1/2 yr. old birthday dinner. She LOVES carrots!

Yes, mommy put the wings on upside-down.

Little Leaguer

Here are a few pics of my mini session with my little leaguer. He is such a great sport! What a natural behind the camera, he came up with most of these poses by himself!

Waiting for Opening Day to begin.
His serious face. :)
His true smile! :)
This was his idea!
This was also his idea! I like it!
This is my idea (that I got from Marisa, a fellow photographer)
This was another one of Chris' ideas! See, he is a natural!
All out of ideas :) He was tired. Don't blame him. You can only take so many orders from mom.

52 week project! Week 9

Today was opening day for our little leaguer. This is his first year ever playing ball, and his coach has been pretty impressed with his skills, not to mention he is the 'class clown' of the team. :) I took a few pictures of Chris, but chose this one to be my project picture!

52 week project! Week 8

I actually learned something at the photography workshop and thought I'd try it out. Not bad for the first try. It's taking a motion shot without using the Sports mode on the camera. It gives an effect of action. I thought I'd change things up a bit by turning it b&w.
This is during our Saturday Bowl-A-Thon for little league. The boys had a great time. They were pretty competitive but had a blast!

52 week project! Week 7

I couldn't resist taking a picture of my sleeping beauty. She looks just precious holding her favorite crib toy. Every night we have to turn on the musical seahorse to get her to fall sleep. :)
I'm probably cheating by posting two pictures, but I couldn't decide on which one I liked better.

52 week project! Week 6

I took this picture during our trip to Disneyland yesterday. What I like about this picture is not only the beautiful tulips and their color, but that there is one flower that has just a single petal with both pink and white coloring. It was the odd ball of the tulips. Unique :)

52 week project! Week 5

Amy and I make adorable babies! LOL

Last Sunday we hung out at the Ketchum's in celebration of this little man's dedication to our Lord! :) Yay! Although I missed the actual dedication, we did get to spend more time with the family. Aren't they just precious?

52 week project! Week 4

Better late than never?

This isn't the picture I was wanting to post. I have been extremely busy lately. I should have had a picture posted by last Saturday!

I did take this picture last weekend, and wasn't too happy with it. I wanted Wookie's eyes to be sharper. My dog just wouldn't cooperate with me because he kept cowering at the camera. The one thing I did like about this picture is that my dog was actually lying down on his back looking at me, where as in this picture it looks as if he was sitting down looking straight up at me. I love camera tricks. Now only if the lighting was better :)

52 week project! Week 3

Well I wasn't really feeling creative this week. Not only was the rain depressing, but I also end up getting the flu on Wednesday that put me out for the rest of the week. I really wasn't feeling up to taking pictures. I did however take a couple of quick pics. Wouldn't you know, when I least expect a descent picture, I end up with one that I just adore. Of course, who could resist a face like this? :)

52 week project! Week 2

God I love my boy! He is such a great sport! :)
I am slowly realizing that I don't have as many pictures of Chris as I do of Shelby. I had this picture in mind all week. Unfortunately, I am finding that my 'shooting' days are going to be Saturdays. Just not enough time or daylight during the week for me. I wanted to get a picture of Chris that reflects his personality. Now, he isn't destructive as this looks, but he is a gamer!
In this picture I am trying to show that not only does he have way too many games, but he also has fun with them too! :)

52 week project! Week 1

Finally!

I am really excited about this. Marisa asked Amy and I to do a '52 week photo blog'. We each take a picture per week and post it on our blogs.
What a great idea!
So by each Saturday, we each need to post a new picture for that week. We get to share ideas and feedback. I am really excited about this. With me starting work again, it will keep me focused on what I love to do!

Here is my first one!

Now. I did get permission from Amy before posting this picture (sight unseen though). I don't want it to be taken in the wrong context. I saw this picture and immediately chuckled. Not because my nephew is crying. Please don't think that. When I see this picture I think, what did Shelby do to Jaxon! I already blamed her! LOL. The look on her face is classic.

Mind you. Amy and I were taking picture of the babies today. The babies did great considering we were posing them and laying them on the bed and even outside. In this particular picture, I don't know why Jaxon started crying. If I do recall, it was out of the blue. It was a very short cry too. Jaxon did great! I just happen to catch this moment. He is a very sweet boy. Not only did he share his toys with Shelby (see prior blog); he also shared his fist! Shelby grabbed a hold of his hand and started sucking on it! LOL. Wish I got a picture of that one :)
